It shows most with curly, long, fine or bleached hair, and if you sleep on your side: fewer knots and fewer creases in the morning. With straight, healthy hair you will mostly feel the softness and coolness.
Satin is a weave, usually polyester. It is smooth too, but it doesn't breathe, so you sweat and it builds static. Silk is a natural protein fibre, cool to the touch and soft for years.
It feels cool and warms up in your hand. The sheen is soft, not mirror-like. Check the label: it should say 100% mulberry silk and give a momme weight. Ours is 22 momme, grade 6A.
Yes. Soft elastic hidden in the silk at the back holds TIDE in place without squeezing, and there are no knots to come undone. There is a short guide on the product page.
Silk absorbs less than cotton, so your cream stays on your skin. Let it sink in for 10–15 minutes before bed and wash the case weekly.
With the right care (30°C, no dryer, neutral detergent) silk lasts for years. It gets a little softer and more matte over time, which is normal.
A measure of silk density. The higher the number, the denser and more durable the fabric. 22 momme is a premium weight.
By hand or in a mesh bag on a delicate cycle at 30°C with a gentle, bleach-free detergent. Dry in the shade, never in a dryer.
