Silk care

Easier
than you think.

The most common worry about silk is washing it. Here is everything you need, on one page.

Care

One-minute care

Silk creases a little and that is normal. It smooths out by itself by evening.

  1. 30°C in a mesh bagDelicate cycle or by hand.
  2. pH-neutral liquid detergentNo bleach, no softener.
  3. No dryerHigh heat tires the fibre.
  4. Dry in the shadeLaid flat or on a hanger, out of the sun.
01

Washing

Machine wash DUAL in a mesh bag on a delicate cycle up to 30°C. Hand wash MIRA, TIDE and VEIL in lukewarm water. Use a pH-neutral liquid detergent for wool or silk. No bleach, no softener.

02

How often

The pillowcase weekly, especially if you use night cream or hair oil. The mask and turban every 1–2 weeks.

03

Drying

Don't wring. Roll in a towel and press gently, then lay flat or hang in the shade. Never in a dryer, never on a radiator or in direct sun.

04

Ironing

If at all: on the reverse, on the lowest setting, or steam from a distance. Light creases fall out by evening.

05

Cream, make-up and oils

Let night cream sink in for 10–15 minutes before bed. Rinse a make-up mark straight away in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent, without rubbing.

06

Storage

Somewhere dry and dark, folded, away from perfume and deodorant. For travel, keep it in a cotton pouch.

With the right care silk lasts for years. Over time it gets a little softer and more matte. That is normal, not a defect.

Is it real silk?

Yes. And you can check.

How to tell real silk: it feels cool and warms up in your hand, rather than staying slippery like plastic. Its sheen is soft and shifts with the light, never mirror-like.
